"Flittering" Images of Edward Cullen in New Moon?

Warning: The following blog contains spoilers to anyone who has yet to read New Moon While on my daily Twilight hunt for new information I came across an interesting article at the examiner.com by Amanda Bell where she reports on demands being made of fans for the upcoming New Moon (set to release Nov. 20th of 2009). Apparently, fans are desperate for as much Edward screen time as possible. If the movie is to stay true to the book then he really won't be in there much at all. This of course allows for Bella's relationship with Jacob to grow. Twilighters of the Edward persuasion are suggesting "flittering" images of Edward to be show throughout the movie presented in hallucinations or memories of Bella. While this would be very pleasing eye candy one has to acknowledge that part of the journey of New Moon is living through Bella vicariously and suffering the loss of Edward. Were they to show these "flitttering" images would that soften the pain of being without him and throw off the whole feel of the book's original flow, or would this just be a nice way to allow die-hard Rob fans a few extra giggles and joys? Personally I say let us suffer. Leave us thirsting for Edward's return. That way when he does it will be that much sweeter. I would like to know what other people think so please comment }:[

  1. I totally agree with you! I think that the movie should stay true to the book. Edward does return at the end and maybe they could make that part be a little longer??? If they flashback to memories of Edward and Bella I think that would just frustrate me even more because I would want them to get back together even more. :( Can't wait for the movie to come out!!! By the way... LOVE your blog!!! :)

  4. The movie absolutely needs to stay true to the book... that's why movies are never as good as the real story. I embrace people's creative license, but c'mom, adhere to the written word as much as possible and give the devout reader a chance to relive is all again.
